Do not, I repeat DO NOT watch movies to get an Irish accent. In fact the probably the only acceptable movies where the accents are real is the Snapper, The Van and The Commitments, and they only have the Dublin accents. Any movie that is not made in Ireland by Irish producers and dont have Irish accents all sound like they have something stuck up their **** when trying to speak with an Irish accent. Brad Pitt does one of the worst ones in Snatch, Harrison Ford in the Jackal is brutal aswell. Some Irish radio stations that I know are online are '98fm, FM104, Q102, Red FM, Today FM. |

Why would you do that? When people try to speak with a fake Irish (or anykindof) accent, they just sound like idiots. Do YOU want to sound like an idiot? Do you WANT people to laugh at you behind your back? There are plenty of ways to make that happen. Chances are that it's already happening if you're brainstorms consist of ideas such as "getting an accent" from somewhere.

The only way to get an authentic accent is to either be born somewhere, live there for a long time, or be around people with that accent all of the time. YOu are better off accepting how you speak then adopting a fake accent and getting caught. |

One place you will not get and accent from is the telly,try radio.
There are a lot of radio stations broadcasting on the internet,smaller stations may be better than national ones.

sometimes well here in the U.S they have language classes in embassys
Like for french, and they speak to you in french, and cook french food, and the recipes are in french and you read books in french
so basically theres your environment, and you catch on to the accent |
