Belfast is a kip,

I think the idea of living in another country is the heart of the question, where as belfast is practically the same country. Dont worry try www.daft.ie for a place to live,
The fact is you wont be lonley as english people were the highest proportion of immigrants to the republic of ireland last year. so i dont think the euro is the problem, you would have less looking over your shoulder in the republic as we dont give a toss where your from as long as your good craic.

yeah Dublin is very expensive to live in. Try somewhere in the south east, Waterford and Wexford are quite good!

Hi.

I moved to Ireland exactly a year ago. I like it here and I'm staying. Dublin is by far the most popular place to live and that's why it's so expensive. It's also where most of the jobs are, but if you can find a job somewhere else then you'll save a lot of money in rent. You will find an apartment for 650 in Dublin in the cheaper areas of the city or sharing somewhere in the city with others.

I live near Castleblayney in Co. Monaghan and pay 260 euros with all bills included, sharing a house. My wages would not be much higher in Dublin.

try http://daft.ie for accommodation all over Ireland.

Kind of curious question given that it's just after Christmas because for that sort of money there would be no room to breathe. like the story of no room at the inn.

Dublin is very expensive, there are no cheap areas to live within 20 miles of the city centre, I'd advise trying the other cities. Someone has suggested Belfast, which is a possibility. Ironically Belfast has more of an Irish vibe to it than Dublin ....

At 18, you are very vulnerable, have you got a source of income of some kind? You should get an education somewhere first before moving away from your family base.

Check out www.daft.ie for rental accommodation. You won't find a place on your own for 600 euro per month. But you will get a room in a flat/house share for that. Probably the best idea anyway as you are young, single and new to the city. House shares are a great way to meet new friends. In general the southside is nicer than the north side. Go for Dublin postcodes with even numbers - Dublin 2, 4, 6 etc. The lower the number, the closer it is to the city centre.

Check out for jobs on www.irishjobs.ie or www.jobs.ie. As you are only 18. www.jobs.ie is probably a better bet for you.

Good luck. It's a fantastic city to live and work. Have fun

dublin is full of tourists. move elsewhere.

it's too pricey.

Viki's got a point Belfast is great! ..and we don't use euro's here! If you take the train to Scotland on cross on a ship, that would be handier!
