As long as you aren't looking for the Ireland in The Quiet Man, you'll be fine. And don't go on about the Northern Ireland thing, or about how bad 'the English' are.
I would suggest visitiing first.
And that's rot about non-Irish coming in - my husband is a foreign national and he's liked and respected. |

I'm an Irish citizen as my father is from there. I plan to move there this summer. I would visit first. I was just there recently to visit family, and everyone was fine with it. As long as you have Irish roots, you're good to go. It's the non-Irish that are moving in that they seemed to be a bit sensitive about. |

They like all Americans except the ones which payed for the IRA to commit their daily bombings against the Irish people in N. Ireland. |

Blimey! Or is that England?
Hey, I just wanted to say I recognize the CAT logo. Yay! Go unions! I am familiar the CAT in Aurora IL. Where did you work?
Okay, in answer to your question. IDK - but since you are a retiree, I am sure they would welcome any surplus you bring to their country. Not like you will be competing for jobs and such. "Stimulate their economy". Go for it and God be with you. Life is too short not to live it to fullest.
Have nice night.
