How far is Dublin from County Westmeath? - How long does it take to get there?
The site below says its about 1 hour away from Dublin...;

About 50 miles it could take you hours and hours and hours all depending on the Dublin traffic and road works Good luck

about 50 miles. By train you will be there in an hour. where in westmeath are you talking about? By car, it will take roughly an hour and a half to Athlone or Moate. Depends on traffic. New motorway should speed things up.

Go to www.theaa.ie and do a route planner, it shouldn't take more than an 1hr, but at least on the AA web you can put in from and to locations.
Best of luck

depends wherabouts in Dublin you are starting from. Traffic in the capital is horrendous these days & a short trip can take hours.
Generally though O'Connell Street ,Dublin to Athlone (the very centre of Ireland) allow 90 minutes.
It is an OK county even though fairly flat - nice lakes & scenery.
Roads have improved dramatically in Ireland but travelling times not necessarily so as densisty & vehicle numbers have increased.
See www.westmeathtourism.com for info on tourism
Good luck !

There isn't much traffic from there. It will take over an hour.

It's about 40-50 miles. It will probably take about an hour and a half to get there if you're travelling by car.
