How long do you think this recession is going to last in Ireland?

And do you think there will be another Celtic Tiger in the next decade?

As doom and gloom as it sounds. Think this is only the beginning of it. Another Celtic Tiger? No, don't think so, think things will pick up, eventually, but not to the mad extent it was.

Aobhríl (Suburban Fairy)
8 years. Not as big a one but there probably will be a smalller one

Years... and years... and years.

To be honest, I think it's only beginning.

But hey, the new budget should enlighten us some bit. =P

As for a Celtic Tiger in the next decade... don't get your hopes up.

It's a worldwide recession, it ain't goin' to be over anytime soon.

Seriously? A minimum of 2 years, for many people it will be a lot longer than that.

Think of all the older people who have been made redundant/lost their jobs. How many young (cheap) people will have come onto the job market in that time?

Older people will definitely have it harder than the young.

No - no more Celtic Tigers - the conditions have changed and there will the nothing to cause Ireland to "boom" again, it will just tick along with the rest of Europe for the foreseeable future.

How long is a piece of string. At best it will be 3 to 5 years and it only started last year, that's the plan for the moment but it might change by the weekend. After every recession there is an upturn in the economy but what form it will take no one can predict.

Sali
it is not only in Irelans it is worldwide, how long? we don't know maybe a year or two maybe more if governments are watching and not acting fastly to sort this problem out.

But they have to act otherwise who will pay tax if most people will be without job!

Alex Mc
well that's if we can sort out the financial crisis the higher taxes we pay the faster we will be out it will take a good while to sort out but im sure it will be sorted out

Couple years or three at most.

It'd be better if we were united, but it's hard to convince people when they disagree.

Someone disagrees lol. Don't take my word for it - look into it.

Sshhhh! It's Podge and Rodge

We don't agree with Nancy Pelosi, she's wrong.
