From Northern Ireland to the UK mainland there are no restrictions.
From the Irish Republic you can bring as many as you like provided that they are for personal use only.
If you are bringing in alcohol or tobacco goods and there is a reason to suspect they may be for a commercial purpose, a Customs officer may ask you questions and make checks.
You are particularly likely to be asked questions if you have more than:
3200 cigarettes, 200 cigars, 400 cigarillos, 3kg tobacco, 110 litres of beer, 90 litres of wine, 10 litres of spirits, 20 litres of fortified wine (such as port or sherry). |

How many can you carry?
Provided they are for personal use you can bring back as many as you want - go on take a transit van.
p.s. I'm assuming your coming back to the UK!! |

This is a surprising question. Cigarettes are very expensive in Ireland (because of taxes), most Irish stock up on the duty free in France and Spain. So, why do you want to bring cigarettes back from Ireland? |

fags in ireland are expensive and so is food and drink.
why not go to ibiza instead and have a great time and bring back as many fags as you can carry.
3200 is the guideline though |

I am not sure, probably 300, but what is the point of bring them back when the Control Police (to wit the Government) won't allow us to smoke them anywhere.
I believe it is quite easy to buy a gun in Glasgow, but light up a cigarette in a pub in Bridgeton or Gartscadden and see what happens |

each person in your party can bring back 3200 cigs each.this is because its part of the eu, outside the eu its only 200 each. make sure you tell them its all for personal use you are a heavy smoker. only if you get pulled by customs. have fun.
ps.how much you selling them for when you get back. hahaha |

I not really sure.
Why would you want to buy loads of cigarettes in Ireland? they're really expensive |

If it is for personal use you are allowed as much as you want because Ireland is part of the EU it won't be a problem but you have to prove they are for your own use. |

Not sure but because they are in the EU I presume more than the 200 I am only allowed to bring back from Africa at £4 for 200
If you are bringing some Irish ones back ? I`ll pay you for a couple of packs of "Sweet Afton" Please. |

you are not allowed to buy duty free in the airport unless you are travelling outside the EU and they are the same price in the shops as here so it's not worthwhile sorry |
