How many politicians does it take to change a light bulb?

No, this is a serious question, I have 3 light bulbs that need changing in my house and I was wondering how much it would cost to hire a few politicians to change them for me. Would it be possible to get it done in a few days or would it have to go out to tender? Would I need planning permission before I went near the light bulbs or would a committee of enquiry have to be set up that would draw up a report hopefully before the end of the year into whether or not it was economically viable to change the light bulbs at this moment in time or should it be postponed for at least 3 to 5 years.

it would not actually get done - because they would be too busy debating who's department is responsible.

jk
Whatever you do dont let the Green Party near your light bulbs.

They'll switch them for candles.

wayfaroutthere
One politician, who would require the help of one master electrician, plus the approval of twenty bureaucrats to sign the paperwork.

Can't wait to see more answers to this one. You'll have to publish a report. But this could lead to a very expensive tribunal, which could end up unearthing all kinds of dodgy deals and skeletons (etc.!) in closets.

One to hold the lightbulb and 99 to twist the house around to fit it

After serious deliberation, and after forming several incompetent committees, it will be put up for a vote. Then the lobbyists will do their thing and delay matters even further. In the end, if approved, the job will be assigned to a relative of one of the politicians, who will be paid an exhorbitant fee for performing an inadequate job. Ultimately, you'll more than likely be forced to do it yourself.

dancedjeric
Zero....if they were willing to change them for you, they would pay someone else to do it for you and pay 10 times what the bulbs are actually worth.

I_am_too_lazy
2, tony blair couldn't do it by himself so he got help form bush and what happened, they failed....ha ha ha. give them the boot again

Alex
I feel that it would not be possible to change the light bulb, regardless of the number of politicians you had.

Health and Safety would argue that electrical equipment must only be handled by a qualified person, and if steps or climbing aids are required, it would have to be done by an electrician who had qualified in high level work.

Any politician would jump at this prohibition, and would thank you for asking, but regret (sincerely, folks) that he could not assist you on this occasion.

Funny question. Ya know it would depend on what politics you have to do the job ha ha.

You have made a potentially funny post incredibly boring.

Keep it short and sweet my friend, short and sweet.

Sorry

health n safety says no

it would not be possible to get them trained before the technology changed.

nosdda
They would have to debate this first, they have an official enquiry as to the possibilities of their qualifications to enable them to be able to change the bulbs. Then they would have to apply for the funding for expenses and travel.

AnteK
none
they get public sector workers to do it, then don't pay them.
then the lightbulb is only allowed so many hours a day to be on, cos of cutbacks
unless it's in dublin, where all the funding seems to go(even in boomtimes)
or in a politicians house.

but what type of light bulb should you get?

If you've already done a phase III EPA study, then it's time to decide which women or minority owned business should get the work.

Or - for a $25,000 campaign donation, Blago will send Roland Burris over to screw the bulbs in (and screw you in the process).

No point in asking as they wouldn't have a clue

it would be easier to just change them yourself...you will be waiting for a long time for them to help you!

lmao...

i reckon it would take a comittee at least, and theyd just pass the buck onto someone else.

According to me if u are looking for Indian politicians to do the job, the following scenario would happen

First there would be a committee setup to decide whether u really need the bulbs. The committee would take its own sweet time to decide whether or not the bulbs are indeed needed. Then there would be a tussle over the caste of the people needed to change the bulb. A legislation would need to be passed making it mandatory to choose at least one SC/ST/OBC for this type of a job. And then they would take their own sweet time in providing with the work force.

By the time all this would take place ...you would have made up your mind to change them yourself.

Too gud a question ..... kudos!!

Politicians are incapable of changing a light bulb. Their little minds cannot handle that tough of a problem. It requires a lobbyist to donate to their cause to get the light bulb changed. The politicians can then hire the company the lobbyist works for and have that $1.00 light bulb changed out for a bargain price of $1,000,000.00.
