I would use Skype for a few reasons.
SkypeOut allows you to phone any number or go Pro for free calls.
If you call one number all the time in Ireland then you can use Skype to go which gives you the freedom to use your mobile or home phone to call a local number which is then forwarded by Skype to the number you have set.
Have a look at the web site www.skype.com for more details. |

Hello Thomas,
A mobile phone or a telephone box call will always cost you the earth, go find skype, and with a microphone on your computer and the sound switched on you can talk for free all day and night, but you will need to download skype and all its peripherals, ohg and don't forget your throat spray for your vocals.. enjoy..one more point it would definitely help if, who you were calling, is also on skype, but it's not essential...skype.com that's all you need. Bye and Good Luck now..,.Tony M |

There is a great website call www.telediscount.co.uk. You don't need to sign up, or download any software. Simply select your country (in your case Ireland) and it will give you a prefix number - 0844 861 78 78 (which is a UK lo-call number 1p per minute). Simply dial this number, then you will be asked for the number in Ireland (need international code 00353) and calls will be charged at lo-call rate and treated as a normal call on your bill. I use this site to get prefix for Canada for calling my brother all the time.
(Note if it is an Irish mobile, there is a different prefix number and it works out at 10p a minute).
Fantastic site for anyone with friend and relatives abroad. |
