How much for a cleaner?

i answered an ad for a cleaner yesterday- she is looking for €30 for 2 hours cleaning. i thought the going rate was 10 per hour. that's more than i earn an hour after tax etc as a professional with 22 years experience!- does it seem excessive or should i expect a sparkling house!?

We paid €10 an hour for ours

... depending on where you live, it is probably the going rate ... in switzerland the rate is a little more than that ... needless to say, i clean my own house .....

It was 10 euro an hour in 1998, so I expect it has gone up since then.

If you don't want to pay it, clean your own house.

First of all house-cleaning is hard work if it is done properly. Also check her references and background....A person who will not steal from you is worth the few extra bucks...Why pay a person 10.00 an hour if they are stealing 5.00 an hour from you.. A person who is responsible and will show up is worth the extra dollars. Quit being so tight and cheap...This is your home....The most important work you will ever do will be in your home.
