Ireland uses the Euro as it's currency, it's not an Irish dollar. So keep ann eye on the exchange rates to see how far teh US dollar will go. Also Ireland is expensive, so whatever you think you need, multiply by 2. |

A tiny tiny TINY bit of research by an American citizen wishing to visit the Republic of Ireland would return the information that the Irish currency is not in fact the Dollar but is in fact the Euro.
Another VERY SIMPLE bit of research has provided this British citizen with a Yahoo service that provides accurate up to the minute exchange rates between most every known currency.
I have to admit, I am stumped as to how to advise on the exchange rate some two years into the future. On that point I share the same level of inability to do any research, but only that point mind you. |

It really depends on the time of the year. I used to go with my dad in February for like 350 a person with Aer Lingus. In the summer it can be twice as expensive. One euro is about 1.3 dollars.
I flew from new york btw. |

The cheapest way to get a flight would be to book 12 months in advance, and travel off peak (This would be Jan-April / Oct-Dec)
At current exchange rates - 10 Euros would cost you 13 US Dollars.
Obviously, times will change, the exchange rates can vary by the day, flights can increase or fall depending on the price of oil?
Check out these airlines:
Aer Lingus
Delta
Continental
American Airlines |

In the Republic of Ireland we use the Euro, and in Northern Ireland the currency is the pound Sterling, as NI is still officially part of the United Kingdom.
Currently the US dollar is worth diddley squat, I'm afraid, but this could change very drastically in a few years again. I suggest finding a currency converter online (use google) and to start saving. |

Unfortunately Southwest airlines don't fly to Ireland (or anywhere in Europe for that matter)
Aerlingus is the main airline flying to Ireland but Continental, Delta, US and American also fly limited schedules.
Check out http://www.myguideireland.com/fly-to-ireland for more details or the airline websites like http://www.aerlingus.com or http://www.delta.com |
