Check travelocity.com, they usually have the best prices for flights, and accomodation. It would help to know where you are coming from to know how much.

Am from ireland you can come and stay with me so that would cover accomadation and food. i would pick you up at the airport and drive you around so that would cover transport. I could give you the guided tour and take you drinking so that would cover cost of tours and alcholol so all you would need is enough money to pay for your flight and enough left over to buy me a wee present. if that doesn't suit than 2000 euro would cover flight, accomadation and give you a great week maybe even 10 days in ireland

Knowing starting destination is absolutely neccessary, and the further ahead you plan your trip, the less the fare will be. The lowest I found going from Kennedy to Shannon, round trip, on American Airlines, was $414. This is a ball-park low-end as of today. Good Luck.
