At 16 you can move out of home but you must have your parents parents permission. You have to be 18 to move out of home without parental consent. You can see a list of young peoples rights, grouped according to what age between 14 and 21 they apply, at the YouthQuest.ie site below.
Ireland's National Youth Website 'SpunOut' below has advice on moving out of home as well as other aspects of life for young people .

I think you have to be 16 but it could be 18, you would have to be able to fully support yourself though that's the hardest part especially if you are in school & plan to do the leaving cert...rethink your plan to escape, put you head down, study, get to college, stay at home as long as possible cos when you're out in the real world it costs and right there is where you start paying in SWEAT!

If you say so

I don't know what way it is now. I moved out of the family home at 15, emigrated to the states at 16, came back at 19.
Nobody tried stop me. lol
I just went and did it.
Got my passport and away I went.
Best time of my life :-)

Depends if you need to move out to get away from abuse or not, if you're 18 then you can move out whenever you want, if younger and in a bad situation you need to move into a more caring environment, as in government care.

18 lol and y wud u wanna leave the emerald isle 4

It's 18 but I know lots of people that moved to go to college some as young as 16. They did it with their parents consent. You could do it as long as the state didn't get involved. That opens up a load of hassle, paperwork and annoyances (but also the state does have it's uses)

its 17 to move out and live in ireland and get a job
to leave the country on ur own is 18

18, unless you become a ward of the state. You need parental/guardian consent for medical procedures and all legal stuff until you are 18. The only way around that is through social services. They are usually nice people - contact your local office directly (you'll find them online or in the green pages of the phone book) or go through your school guidance counsellor if he/she is someone you can trust.

toad
Actually its 16. Youn need to be 16 to get a house or apartment in your own name. But as it happens i know people who lied at 15 and got council houses. Couldn't possibly be 18. I'm doing the leaving cert now I'll be 16 when i finish so i'm moving out in september at 17!
