I'll be on holiday in Dublin on a Bank Holiday. Please explain? |
I'm going to be in town for a holiday and one of the days is May 26. What is a bank holiday? Will everything be closed (food and shops?) or can I still do things? Thanks for any help. |

the bank holiday is in northern ireland, Dublin wont be affected. Even if it was a bank holiday nothing closes here. everywhere is pretty much open sundays and bank holidays, just christmas day and easter sunday that most/a lot of shops are closed |

Its not a bank holiday in Ireland that weekend, our bank holiday is the first week in June!, so it'll be businss as normal.
the bank holiday you mention is a UK bank holiday, Dublin is not part of the UK |

A bank holiday is when most businesses close for the day, except shops. However, as only one person has said so far (which I find difficult to believe) its NOT a bank holiday in Ireland the weekend you plan to visit, so no need to worry |

Govt. run places will be shut other than that Dublin stops for no man. |

Bank Holidays are official public holidays, and banks, post offices, government buildings and some businesses will be closed.
However, there will be shops open - especially the big stores, it's when they do their best business - and many restaurants will also be open. |

Yes. Everything will be closed and you'll have to go to Mass. |

It depends on the shop, I mean most big places stay open but a few small places close, its just like a 2nd Sunday, if its open on Sunday it'll be open bank holiday. |
