You should try the Dept. of Social Welfare in Ireland.
They will tell you what Irish people are intitled to. The law has / is changing to make it more difficult for Non Nationals who go to Ireland in the hope of living off the welfare system. In order to qualify you first have to work there now.

In regards to wages for manuel labourers / unskilled workers, you should check out the minimum wage and citizens advice

Please ignore snowbound answer as this person is flat out lying to you , if you are unemployed as a citizen you are intitled to free healt care, free dental and a weekly supp. of around 190 euro , if you live in rented acomm. you will get rent allowance of about 75% , there are plenty of low skilled jobs in ireland , the average pay for low skilled work is between 350 to 400 a week,

I traveled to Ireland about ten years ago, things may have changed a bit, when I was there, on a tour, our guide did explaine some of workings of Ireland. Number one is that there is very little in the way of jobs in Ireland. Most of the younger population move to the continent to find work. That is why when you go there most of the Irish can speak more than one language. Also when a couple gets married the goverment gives them a lump sum of money to start a business. When you go you will see many, many, many, bed and breakfasts that is because the goverment gave the newlyweds the money just for getting married but if they buy a house with it the house has to become the business. Also most jobs over there, such as Waterford crystal or Beleek China start as apprentience positons for five years befor you even start to get paid. OH and on that if you work for Waterford and you are in the production process for the factory and someone, anyone mars a piece that you worked on it gets destroyed and no one gets paid for that piece. It does not matter if it happens when the glass is blown or when it is being packed to be shipped. It gets destroyed and you don't get paid.
