Of course you will be able to drink all the tea in the county and as much water as there is.
Will you be able to drink Booze legally the simple answer is NO. However where there is a will there is always a way bet you find it,

This will restrict you somewhat but if your visit is round 17th March you will have fun as the craic and ceol is mighty. (Far more Oirish expression than having a Kick*** time, you might even have a Kiss*** time to story-tell on your return.

Use the net now to find if there are any name music acts in Cork at the time you are due to be there and book.
Without ID you should be refused entry into all clubs and pubs where Drink is served after 21.00. Find some willing companions of an older age get in earlier and you may not be asked to leave. Try entering after 21.00 and you should be stopped that's the Law.
The Irish are trying hard to cut down on " under age" drinking and are encouraging "No Drink" Discos and other Dance venues but I do not know Cork that well now.
Don't let it put you off there will be lots of locals attracted to the sight of you and your mates. You may want to do more than work out what the Cork accents is all about and what the lads are actually saying..

Aoife
I'm afraid the drinking age in Ireland is 18. All nightclubs are at least over-18 also. On top of that, most live music venues are over-18.

Can you give me some idea of your interests sso I can try and come up with a few ideas for you?

Edit: In terms of sight-seeing around the city, I would suggest the City Gaol and Shandon (though I hhaven't been to Shandon in a good few years, I keep meaning to go back).

You could also get a train from Kent Station to Cobh (last stop of the Titianic) and have a look around the Heritage Centre.

The same train also stops at Fota Wildlife Parkk, where you can see animals like cheetahs, giraffes, gibbons, etc. They also have animals like kangaroos roaming free around you. Maybe you might think you're a bit ttoo old for it but I still love it :)

You can also get a bus from the bus station to Blarney Castle. If you go there, I suggest you spend time in the gardens too.

For a day trip, I would Killarney. Coaches go from the bus station. From thee town, you can make your way by bike, on foot or by horse and cart to Killarney National Park, visit Ross Castle, and take a boat ride on the lakes to the island (boats leave from near the castle)

In terms of entertainment, I would suggest looking up sites like entertainment.ie or http://www.whazon.com/cork/index.php

In terms of shopping, I prefer to walk around town. If you're looking for shopping centres, the biggest one in Cork is Mahon Point Shopping Centre. You can get there by getting the number 10 bus from the South Mall

Well Hello there ;)!
If you have a fake ID then your sorted :P! ha ha

Legally you can't drink in Ireland till you're 18.

No, if you haven't turned 18 you won't be allowed in the pubs. They regularly ask for ID, also in the supermarket if you try to buy alcohol, so you'll hardly get away with it.

Come party with me and my friends in UCC (the college!) Most of them are 17 and manage to get drink and get in everywhere!! Otherwise it's just house parties most of the time...woo!!

(By the way, I'm joking...before anyone attacks me over inviting her to meet up!!)

If the 14 year old's can, then you can.

Fake I.D. seems to work for teenagers over here.

HeddyS
Maybe it has changed but I first went to Ireland when I was 17 too and we travelled all around and went to tons of pubs/clubs and not once were we asked for ID. 18 is the law but I don't think it is heavily enforced. I ended up living there from the age of 18-23 and worked with people under 18 and we would very often go for a drink after work and again I never saw anyone asked for ID. Google things to do in Cork, that should give you some daytime activities.
