I'm going to Ireland. Can you give me some advice?

Me, wife and 1-1/2 year old daughter are going for vacation in early August. There about 10 days. We're staying in Dublin, Waterford, Cork, Killarney, and Shannon and then at the Ballynahinch Castle. Can anyone recommend some must see places or events? We're pretty much up for anything - music, mueseums, sporting events, restaurants, pubs, scenic drives, local festivals, gardens, you name it. I'd love to hear about any hidden gems that aren't all touristy. Any areas to avoid - I've heard the Guiness Tour isn't worth it and you'd be better off just going to a pub and ordering a pint. Anything like that would be helpful. Thanks so much.

Start practicing by drinking a gallon of beer. Everywhere you go there will be beer. All kinds.
Nothing worse than being in Ireland with an unconditioned bladder.
You'll actually have more fun going the opposite way of the tourist traps. Meet the locals...they will tell you and be glad to show you the best places...

when the sun goes down
shopping in dublin and then after that back to the airport
ireland is a snoozefest

Be aware that children are not permitted in pubs anymore after a certain time.

There's not a whole lot to see in Shannon, but you might enjoy Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. In Clare there's also Seaworld at Lahinch, and the Aillwee Caves at Ballyvaughn.

Waterford has lots of great beaches, just be careful at Bunmahon, there's a dangerous undertow there.

Killarney has Muckross House and park, on the lakes, and that is lovely.

ok well id definatly recomend the viking splash tour in dublin its a great way to see the city and have a fantastis time and your daughter will just love it.
tramore irelands largest seaside town is well worth a visit when your in waterford as a great carnival atmosphere exists there and its only 25 mins from the city centre
photo island wildlife park in cork is worth a look in its like a zoo but a lot of the animals roam free
the lake tours in kilarney are both enjoyable and informative.
and then when your up in shannon you should visit bunratty folk park which is amazing especially if you get to go to an evening banquet.
