Oooooh, so many sites, so little time!
I love Ireland, and Dublin doubly so. Of course, you have to go to Trinity College and see the Book of Kells. It's one of the oldest remaining hand written and painted bibles. The artistry is amazing!
Of course, you also must go to St. James Gate to the Guinness Beer Factory. Even if you don't like Guinness or beer, Guinness in Ireland tastes entirely different. I've heard it compared more to coffee than beer. Really cool!
As long as I'm talking about alcohol, Dublin's Whiskey Corner will show you all the reasons why Irish Whiskey is superior to Scotch and Bourbon.
If you like literature, make sure you hit the Dublin Writer's Museum.
And if you want to have the best Salmon on the face of the Earth, go to Foley's. Afterwards, pop across the street to O'Donogues for a pint, then take a nice stroll around St. Stephens Green!
Just remember, the Irish are the friendliest people on the face of the Earth. Strike up some conversations, and they'll tell you where all the good things are! |

Take the Dublin Tour bus. You pay a set fee and can get on and off as often as possible. Very good value. Use the Dart, the commuter train system and take a trip south (12 miles) to Bray. The area should be beautiful in June and a climb to the Cross on Bray Head will get you fit for a good meal which is available in any of the Pubs or Restaurants along the Promenade. If you have a day to spare, get a tour to Glendalough through the Wicklow Mountains. Now I can guarantee you - that will blow your socks off. Eerie. |

you should visit trinity university, its a beautiful old building, built in 1592. it has guided tours, and an exhibit on the book of kells which is kept there. you could visit dublin castle, the general post office; which was the main stronghold of the Irish Volunteers in the 1916 Rising, leading to the separation from Britain. If you are into culture there is the national library, the national museum, and of course you have to visit the guinness factory. |
