Yes it's safe for women to travel alone. I would be careful where I went at night in the city just as you would in any large city.I have travelled alone to Ireland many times. In the 80's women alone were sometimes treated with suspicion and I did have trouble once getting a room. I also learned that "women of a certain age" don't travel around alone in jeans and a backpack. I started wearing a skirt and it did make a difference. But that was then and either times have changed or I have just gotten used to travelling alone. Oh I have found that people are not as apt to strike up a conversation with a single woman. It is different when you have a companion. I've travelled there both ways and have always felt safe. Have a great time.

Ireland is a very safe country and the people are very helpful and friendly. My sister and I traveled there a couple of years ago and have met single ladies there traveling as well. Dublin is wonderful, as all of Ireland is, Go and enjoy and look for Daniel O'Donnell, a wonderful Irish Singer.

no ireland is very safe

Never heard that before. For the most part, I believe Ireland is safe so I think traveling alone would be fine, but I would definitely do some research before going. Ask other people, read a book, and search the internet. I have always wanted to visit Ireland, so if you need friend, I would gladly go along (if you pay of course...haha) have fun!!
