You are only legally allowed to bring 200 cigarettes back.
Although part of Spain, the Canary Islands (inc. Tenerife) do not count as part of the EU for allowance purposes. |

The problem with bringing back cigs from Tenerife is that it is a duty free island and therefore you can only bring back 200. Marlboro are priced at about €18 /€20 for 200.
However in mainland Spain they are about €31 for 200, but because you have paid the duty, you can bring back as many as you like, providing you can prove that they are for your own consumption.
The quantity of 3200 is a figure acceptable to customs when deciding if they are for personal use. Any more than that and you will have to convince them otherwise. |
