If you are willing to splash out for a little luxury over Christmas then I would recommend that you look at Waterford Castle. Its a beautiful old castle on an island in the esturary of the river Suir, just a couple of miles outside Waterford City, that has been converted into the ultimate luxury hotel. It has everything you could want from fine dining to a great golf course.Have a look at the website http://www.waterfordcastle.com/

In my experience, just take your pick. The people of Ireland are some of the most hospitable and friendly in the world.I have never been in bad hotels or digs in Ireland.Enjoy your break,as i,m sure you will.Remember, life is what you make it.

try rhu glenn hotel (slieveroe)on the N25 between waterford and new ross

Kerri X o X
don't stay in the rhu glenn because its too dirty!
jury's is now closed down.
I'd try either the granville hotel , the tower hotel or the woodlands hotel.
they are all in the city centre so they would be pretty handy for you. Hope this helps.

There's a good selection of options here :

Ireland : http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Ireland/
Kilkenny : http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Ireland/Kilkenny/
Wexford : http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Ireland/Wexford/

Hope that helps at least give you some perspective, if not a good hotel at a good price.

Danielle
Bewleys or Jurys are fabulous hotels.
