Permanent residents of the UK are allowed to travel to Ireland without a visa due to the free travel agreement between the two Countries. However permanent residents of the UK who are not citizens are not allowed to work or stay in the Republic. You can visit as a tourist only. |

I think that you do need a visa, but to be on the safe side why not ring your local goverment office, they will let you know. hope you like Dublin, xx |

Belfast is consider part of the UK and unfortunately as a Filipino citizen you are not allowed free travel between the UK and Ireland. I'm not entirely sure who you need to see to request a visa but check with your local police station and they should be able to help. That said, there is no longer an actual land border between Southern & Northern Ireland so you could just risk taking the journey without authorisation and crossing your fingers. |

Hello Markloyse,
We here in Ireland are part of the European Union, as is the UK, and all residents are granted free passage with photo IDs into and out of all the countries contained within that Union, I don't see that you have any problems at all, but to satisfy your own mind call at almost any travel agent who would be only too pleased to assist you, You have lived in Belfast for 6 years, you can be fairly well regarded, as a 'no risk' traveller, and enjoy the freedom we Europeans do, and that travel agent would even be able to book your travel tickets too, I hope you see your friend and have a whole load of fun and giggles...Good Luck Now...Tony M... |
