If you are coming from UK any form of legal ID will do, drivers license is fine. But if you are not a resident of th UK or a UK citizen... passport is needed. |

If you are going by sea you do not need photographic identity. If you are going by air a photo driving licence is OK! |

Depends if its north or south I think but airlines vary. Best check with the airline you intend flying with. Some accept just photo ID but others don't. Sorry I couldnt be more definate |

Northern Ireland is part of the UK, so you don't need a passport. But I'm not sure about If you need one for Southern Ireland. |

Simply fly to Northern Ireland and cross what is effectively an open border. |

If your driving anywhere within Ireland, North or South, you do not need a passport. I needed my passport to get from the U.S. to Ireland, but from then on I was home free. |

You need a Passport to pass a port (air/sea) into another country. You have a Driving Licence for driving (in a car). |

It depends how you are travelling. Some airlines coming from the UK will accept just photo ID.
Any ferry I have ever been on never checked, but it's been a while since I travelled here by sea.
I've never been checked driving across the border from Northern Ireland. |

Are you going to Northern Ireland? Where are you going from? If its N. Ireland and youre going from the UK you definately dont need one. If it's the south I'm not sure. If its from anywhere other than the UK then yes you'll need one.
I hope I covered your situation!
Karma.

if your goin to norther ireland then you don't need to have your passport if your driving through.
but you should get your passport asap cause you would want to go to southern ireland.
make sure you get your passport sorted. |

If you are in the UK, I don't think you need a passport for the Irish Republic. |

I see by your statistics that you are from Wales. I think you can travel within the UK with just a driver's license.
I went from Belgium to England with just a Belgian Identity card, even though I am American and didn't go into the "NON EURO" line at the port.
Just ask in advance, but not on YAHOO ANSWERS. |
