Unemployment rate is currently 8.3 % (from 4.9% last january) but is expected to jump to 12% by the end of the year
The good times in Ireland are over we are being hit really hard by the recession and there is no sign of anything going to improve any time soon
EDIT: The person who said the unemployment rate is at its highest ever obviously wasn't around in the 80's it was over 18%!!!! |

ive moved from northern ireland to australia 5 years ago. and i can tell you things aren't wonderful over there. it all really depends on your qualifications.nurses are in big demand. youll be best to get a job before you move. if you have skills then you might be able to get sponsored. youll have to look into it. look on job websites see whats going. |

It's not a good time to move to Ireland at the moment as the recession has hit hard. unemployment has doubled (!) within a year and companies are closing all over the place. sorry :( |

The unemployment will be around 13pc next year. So the Irish will have to emigrate to other European countries and then we will send them comments like "If Ireland is your homeland go there and find a job"... as they did to us cause they thing it's right. I hope EU will reject this country with the far right attitudes.
My friend don't move here. The people are extremely unfriendly. |
