I'm American, living in Austin, Texas, but I love Kildare! Your quiet town is going through so much change. I was there for the first time in 2001; and my wife and I returned there about 14 months ago, for Lá Fhéile Brighid. In that time, the N7 has been re-routed, and there is a new outlet mall; quite disorienting when I first found it, and a pair of roundabouts that hadn't been there before!
Kildare is going through some growing pains, as refugees from Eastern Europe and from Africa try to make new homes, and the insane housing prices in Dublin have meant that Kildare is becoming a bedroom community for the big city. But it is still recognizable, and an Tobhar Brighid has not changed. And the Brigidines are as lovely and welcoming as always.
Of the places in Ireland that I'm familiar with, Kildare is where I feel the most at home.

I lived there for 2 months but honestly I didn't like it at all. I was in a 'rough' part so that would explain it!

= )

I live in Kildare as well!
I love it
I can get into town easy enough and still have forests and fields and stuff around me with out any of the problems that you might get in Dublin cause of the higher population like traffic congestion and more crime

Barn Owl
That would be cool. Do you speak Gaelic?

Edit:
What are all these thumbs down for? I don't understand why. What have I said wrong? Please tell me.
