ok, heres some genuine facts

its illegal to be locked (ie drunk) in Ireland, but the Garda aren't that pedantic a police force, so some things are let slide, in the interest of community policing
More people claim to be Irish than the actual Irish living here. The diaspora have run riot.
the average Irish person uses more words in the English language than any other native English speaker
An Irish man called William Brown (no relation) founded the Argentine navy, and an Irish man designed the White house.

and everything Podge and Rodge says has some modicum of truth LOL, but you need to be more specific with your requirements to this particular request.

Well we have U2, they come from County Roscommon although Bono himself was born in Mississippi.
We also have the 2 greatest presenters in the history of broadcasting - Derek Davis and Thelma Mansfield. People still talk about Live At 3 in reverential tones.

The Westzone and Boylife fellas come from Ireland although our greatest musical export would have to be The Carter Twins. Apparently they're packing them into the halls of Ulan Bator these days.

That is of course if you would kindly change your user name when posting in this section......it is offensive to us.
