YOu need to get over this phobia you have, you could go to the shops and be involved in an accident, just like some people going abroad. You can't live your life with this fear.
Just think for years no one would come to Ireland because of the news, but you lived with that, knowing it didn't directly affect you.
London is a big place, I can understand you getting a panic attack from such a large city, but its one of the 10 largest cities on the planet, its extreme to think the rest of the world is like that.
Stop listening to the news (its mostly biased anyway), and get out your geography and history books, and read up on all the places around the world you would love to visit, millions of people go on holiday every year, and 99.99% of these enjoy themselves and come back alive. |
|

I should be doing something else
|
Catch yourself on!
Count yourself lucky that you are getting a holiday because there are plenty out there that cant afford it.
You could get killed crossing the road, so if that's how you feel you may be as well never leaving your house, nevermind Ireland. |

Loads of people going and abroad and coming back in a body suit? Come on.
Like, thousands of Irish, I go abroad at least twice a year, and have come back every time. You're missing out by not going someplace else!
Spain is lovely, what's wrong with you ....again, thousands of Irish go there every year and come home safe - get over it already.
I think you're just looking for attention. If your family go away without you, it would serve you right. |

You do realise that their are plenty of murders here as well don't you. Flick through the Irish Times/Independent someday and see how many horrible things are happening. |

The only Irish people I ever knew of that went back to Ireland in a box died of natural causes.
Yes, there is crime in other countries, there is crime in Ireland, people leave the island for perfectly innocent holidays & stuff happens but if you allow statistics & fear of what may happen dictate how you live your life, you'll wind up living in a cupboard & never going anywhere or do anything.
Asking us for help is pointless, it's trite but true, only you can help yourself. You need to recognise your problem and if you can't confront it on your own then seek professional help. |

its grand! don't worry about it, sure look at all the foreigners that were killed here?
you'll be fine relax! |
|

Why When How
|
there are more murders in Ireland per capita than in UK
So I suggest you get a grip and relax.
unless you're involved in drugs you should be okay
then again................ |

I don't understand. I've never heard of this. I've met plenty of Irish and they are just fine. Patrick Murphy, from Gaelic Storm. He is just fine. He is from Cork. If your mom wants to got to Spain, there must not be too much of a worry. I'm a mom and I worry about going place we might not be safe. I'm sure mom is no different. You'll be fine. Don't let fear take the reigns in your life. |

Frankly sweetheart, Nobody in Spain, America, or anywhere else in the world wants you to be there if you don't want to be there.
Stay home.
There's plenty of people like you in those places already, causing plenty of strife for the rest of us...so again....stay home. Please. |
