An American in Ireland
|
I answered this not long ago. You cannot just go to Ireland and look for a job you can go to the Irish Embassy and see what jobs they are looking at when you are coming into the country. Otherwise it is healthcare, technology and social services where they will make special consideration.
You need to be looking for a job before you go to Ireland then the job if they want to hire you will apply for a work permit for you. If you do not have it you are not allowed to look for jobs with just a passport unless you are coming from an EU country.
You can try the teaching profession too. Otherways you can get in is missionary work from your church this would also give you different priviledges as far as living in Ireland.
You also have to be hired by a job and making at least 40K |

I have a friend who moved there after she went to Notra Dame with a triple major. I swear it too. This is no lie. She is there right now, living in a random farm house, and only with an internship at a little local news center. If she lived in LA, she could get any job in directing or film. She has been there a year, and still no "offical" job. She was here for the holidays and said it was due to the Visa and how hard it was to get one. |
