1.viking splash tours dublin-its an exciting tour of the city.You go on borad a WW2 vehicle and let the costume guides tell you about the great sights .You then drive inton the Grand Canal Harbour to continue your tour by water.Don't worry,you won't get wet.departure points are 64-65 patrick street(close to St. Patricks Cathedral),St Stephen's Green North.tours are every 30 mins.you can buy tickets at departure points.there is 30% discounts off adult price for 10am tour only if booked at least one day in advance.

2.Trinity College i.e. the book of kells-visit the world famous 8th century illuminated manuscript which features the 4 Gospels.The Libary's Long Room is also spectacular as it is 200 feet in length.It houses 200,000 of irelands most important books.be prepared to queue but it goes fast.

3-Dublin Castle-It was built between 1204 and 1224 and was the seat of English rule and goverment untill 1922.It is used for state functions and is open to the puplic.

4.Ha'penny bridge-this is a well known and loved symbol of Dublin.It became known as the ha'penny bridge cos of the toll people used to be charged to walk across it.

5-Dublin Writers Museum-it displays collections of rare editions used by artists.

6. Kilmainham Gaol was the most infamous prison in Ireland. Here Ireland's greatest rebels were imprisoned and many of them executed. Now it is the largest unoccupied jail in Europe and a museum charters the violent transition to Irish independence.

I'd take a bus tour of the City. This takes you by all the places that you need to visit. You can get off where you like and then jump back on another bus to the next place. There's Dublin Zoo, The Guiness Factory, Temple Bar, Phoenix Park. I went last year had a great time and about 18 pints of Guiness..superb!!!!

im irish....i live in dublin......go to the guiness factory yeh but theres no better craic than in an irish pub with irish music and dancing.

It depends what you enjoy doing. There is a hop on hop off tour bus of the city and some tours go to the North and South coasts of Dublin and to their attractions. If you are interested you can visit the Guinness Brewery or the Jameson Distillery or there are lots of museums and galleries. There are also churches and historical buildings to see such as Kilmainham Gaol. The Phoenix Park has a huge amount of possible activities in it including the zoo. Why not have a browse on www.visitdublin.com and get some more ideas. Shopping is also good. There is a tourist office in the arrival hall of the airport in Dublin and one in O'Connell St and the main one is in Suffolk St. Have a good time and bring plenty of money as you will need it.

The Hop-on Hop-off tourist bus is the best way to get around for one day. The ticket is reasonable and it is valid for 24 hours. The bus brings you to all the major tourist sites and you can get off, visit the site and get on the next bus. They are very frequent. It's hard to recommend something without knowing your age but most people like to visit the Guinness brewery. You can find out about the history of Guinness and your ticket includes a pint. The bar on top has glass walls and gives a terrific view of our city.

Our museums and art galleries are all free to enter unless there is a special exhibition in the art gallery. Temple Bar is right in the centre and has lots of pubs and restaurants. If you visit on a saturday, there is a clothes market in Cow Lane. Also have a look at Moore Street, an open air vegetable market takes place here every day and has been in existence for years. Trinity College has an ancient Irish manuscript called the Book of Kells, beautifully illuminated.

Off the main track, have a drink in Mulligans of Poolbeg Street where the journalists drink. Its a very old pub and they don't allow mobile phones. St. Stephens Green is a nice park at the top of Grafton Street but a nice and less well known park is in Merrion Square, beside the National Art Gallery and the Natural History Museum (called the dead zoo by locals).

By the way although the gardens at the zoo are lovely, I don't recommend it if you are just there for a day as it would take half of the day to get around (unless you just want to chill).

Haven't been there for a few years but its a fab place! We also covered it in a 24 hour period and saw loads. Recommend the Guiness Factory.

Hiya, I am going to Dublin for 1 day 23 April, i went online and got the flights for Â£22.00 return, so i couldnt resist booking them. I arrive at 8.30am so i will be taking the bus into Dublin it's around 1.60 euros (make sure you have the right change) When i arrive in Dublin i will take my family on a GREEN tour bus, don't buy tickets off anyone else sometimes they are fake. You can get on and off the bus all day it's about 14 euros. That takes you to all the tourist attractions. Temple Bar, Guinness Factory, Phoenix park, Jamesons factory. The shopping is fantastic, it's the food and drink you will find expensive. Have a great trip it's a fantastic City.

I would go to Temple Bar, Trinity College, and the Jameson Distillery. I liked Jameson much better than Guiness!
