I will be traveling to Dublin in 2010, and I was wondering where else could I go from their?

there has always been a deep yearning within me to travel to Ireland, and part take in the joyous wonders of its culture. I do have Irish blood, and sometimes I wonder if that fuelled my passion. So, without a doubt in my mind and heart, I will be making it over there in 2010. Just gotta build up the wallet, and finish off my education here in N.Z. I also want to learn Irish Gaelic when I'm over there, not over the internet. I want to be face to face with the Irish culture.

I think its so cute when people with Irish in the have a huge need to come to Ireland, as if its calling them, I really dont see what the fuss is? I think from living here all my life Im just used to the magic of the place lol

How long do you plan to stay? Cuz with regards to that, I live in ireland, quite close to a gaeltacht [which is an all irish speaking town or village] and i studied it in school and it took my 6 years to become fluent. And I think you have some romanticized ideas about ireland... don't expect one of "de little people" to come pick you up from the airport in a horse and cart and blarney all the way to your crofters cottage... Ever heard of the Celtic Tiger?

If you want to learn Gaelige you will have to go to the West i.e. Aran Islands as most people in Ireland can hardly string a sentence together!
You could get cheap flights or a ferry to Wales or England from Ireland (not sure what you meant from 'where else could I go from there', is that what you meant).
You could also visit Northern Ireland, I believe its a very different culture there, its basically going to a different country without the expense or long travel!
Good Luck, not long to go!

If you want to experience Gaelic Ireland you must travel to the west of Ireland. That is where Gaelic is still spoken daily.
Don't go in the Irish winter you'll be frozen.
