Well have fun finding it because it doesn't exist. We are the Republic of Ireland and a lot more than just the south of the island!

You need photo id to come from the United Kingdom or countries in the European union if that is where you are. You need a passport from all other countries.

Come and enjoy your holiday and just call us Ireland. We'll be happy!

ok i have checked this out with ryanair and although you do not technically need one this is a grey area. It is recomendded that you do thou if you have got a photo ID driving licence that would do it, assuming you are flying from the uk.
hope this helps.

No, passports aren't needed for travel between the UK and the Republic. You may need photo ID for the airlines.

why dont you give the north a chance?
why set your mind on the republic?

anyway, you will need a photo to prove your identity
i wouldnt think you'd need a passport

Not necessarily.

If you go by air you will need photo ID, if you go by ferry you may need evidence to say who you are, like a bill with your address on.

greenorlagh
Depends on where you come from. Are you from the UK? If so then you don't. IF you are flying there from the UK then it's best to use a passport for ID purposes.

Orla C
No such place. It's the Republic of Ireland.

If you're flying, you need a passport.

you can go over with your driving license

The Questioner
Where are you coming from? In most cases if you are flying and booking on the Internet, you will need one for I.D. at the airport. However, if you are travelling by ferry, you may need to show it for I.D. at the port of entry..

kit
Depends where you're coming from. Usually a passport id will suffice

Yes, it's not part of the United Kingdom. I assume you're asking this from the United Kingdom.
