Go to Temple Bar!!!
Its the most expensive place in Dublin, but if you go during the week, there is often "offers" on drink...

(also, a little trick we do is to slip a small bottle of vodka in my bag so i dont have to buy so much in there lol)

Id recommend.....

Try Barcode (thursdays are cheapest btw!).....i go there all the time and im 18 (its kind of young place, youd love it i reckon!)

If you want a really "irish" pub....try Johnnie Fox's pub, in Glencullen on top of the Dublin mountains.....out if the way, but it is the highest pub in Ireland lol

Bars aside,
You can visit Dublin Castle
the Dublin Spire is on O'Connells Street (extremely overated but very tall lol)
Depending what youre into, theres lot of museums and art galleries such as the National Gallery and the Irish Museum Of Modern Art.
(as already mentioned) there are some great bus tours
Phoenix Park
Grafton Street/Henry Street (for shopping!) - theres a cool vegetarian cafe called "Nude" near there too lol
If you want to go to a shopping centre, go to "Dundrum Town Centre.

Also, taxis are very costly here....if you can, get the Nightlink (bus) which operates in Dublin in the early hours!!

If you really want to experience "old" ireland, i think you should go to the West....County Clare (QUITE near to Galway.....ish!)
i have family who live in a town there called Ballyvaughan....and its absolutely beautiful
There, you can stay in a thatched cottage and visit the little pubs and restaraunts by the sea - theres often live music.
Theres also lots of cool scenic things there too.
The burren (take a look at the Dolmens, theyre incredible!), the Ailwee caves, The cliffs of Moher.
Theres also a "birds of Prey" sanctuary near the Burren - worth a visit.
In Lisdoonvarna i think, theres a nice aquarium and if you want to do some shopping you can go to Ennis.
The people are SO friendly there and so proud of the County- the accents are crazy too lol.
In comparison to most places in Ireland, its a lot cheaper there

Even Dubliners think that Dublin doesn't feel like Ireland anymore, and it is and always has been the one city in Ireland that's the most English in feel, for all that it's the capital of the Republic of Ireland.

Head West and South for the real Ireland, hon.

In Dublin, The best night life is definitely in Temple Bar. It’s big, It’s modern and It’s expensive while it has loads of history and culture to it too.
If you want a relaxing, quiet holiday in the country or enjoy the scenery, then any parts of the country will do it for you really like Donegal, Galway, Clare, Mayo etc.
If you want a shopping, busy, touristy holiday then anywhere (or most places) in Dublin will do it for you.
A town in Kerry (the South of Ireland, It’s beside Cork too) called Tralee is very touristy. It is the largest town in Ireland.
It has many attractions and loads of shops and a great night life.
It’s great for young people and people with small families. It suits everyone.
It has an aqua dome swimming pool which is always packed and outside the pool, You can play crazy Golf.

The People in Ireland, in my opinion are an extremely welcoming race. I think this because I have went to other countries from a young age on exchanges, holidays with college etc. and I thought no one was as hospitable as the Irish.

Head to a Gaeltacht region in kerry or Galway.. i went to Corca Duibhne in Kerry last month, the locals there are so nice and you can learn the meaning of traditional Irish in any of the pubs. Play a sesion in Paidi O Sé's pub myself and it was immense.

Prices are pretty cheap down that neck of the woods and if you fly to Dublin and get the train to Tralee, everything is just better there! ha

It depends on what you are in to, how much time do you have and more importantly, how much money you have. West Cork, Killarney, Galway, Dublin and The Aran Islands are MUST SEES. As for pubs, it also depends what you are into.

Is a great site for the ins and outs of Irishness. There are also a whole host of official sites.(lots and lots), most of them just want you to book a Hotel so they can get percentages. DO NOT GO ON A BUS TOUR, you'll end up hating it. The bottom line is, Ireland is expensive and can be pretty violent at night, it can also be very beautiful and memorable. Don't think we are all Leprechauns, don't just go to the Tourist traps and don't say anything good about Bono!
