No, you're not allowed, you have to be 18.

And the thing is, if you go to a small village, by the time you get the booze back to where you're staying, your host family will have got a phone call from the shop where you bought it, and you'll have to give up the booze anyway.

Everyone knows everyone else in small villages in Ireland.

Eammon
No, we aren't that much of drunks. Eighteen is the legal age.

JBurk
no - you have to be 18, but the legal drinking age in Germany is 16 :) Go to Germany.

Presuming you mean alcohol to drink, not an alcoholic person lol. No you can't buy booze legally. If you get someone else to buy it for you and sit around drinking the Gards will probably pick you up (brought my son home in disgrace the other week lol).

Try to enjoy your trip without drinking alcohol. There is more to life thank drinking you know.

Sshhhh! It's Podge and Rodge

No unless they want you to buy them but slavery has been abolished.

Unfortunately not. I live in Ireland and i had to wait until i was 18 until i could buy alcohol myself.
Although you might be lucky and go into a pub where the barman doesn't care. :)
