If I stood in the middle of Ireland and dug a hole straight down where would I end up?

If I started digging a hole in the centre of Ireland and kept digging and digging where would I end up? And this is in relation to vital tourism information as tourists have asked me this lots of times but I can't find the answer to it even on Wikipedia.

You would end up in the sea just south of New Zealand. Have a look at the Antipodes map at the site below. You can pinpoint any place in the world and the lower map shows which point is on the opposite side of the world from it.

The centre of the earth. After that you would be digging straight up.

If you were going straight through in a straight line you would end up in the pacific ocean or on the east coast of russia, ireland is too far north to be hitting australia.
