Hello

If the UK had responded to IRA terrorism with air strikes against Dublin...?

...followed by a ground assault - and they didn't bother to differentiate between terrorists and civilians - then I guarantee you America would leap into immediate action.

So far America has done nothing about Israel turning the Gaza strip into one big humanitarian crisis.

Does America think that Palestinian lives are worth less than everyone else's and are not worth bothering about?

Hang on a second. The Palestinian people stupidly voted Hamas into power. That shows you that they have a lot of support from the ordinary Palestinian people.
Even at the height of their terrorist campaign the IRA had very little support from the vast majority of people in the Republic.

You're comparing apples with oranges.

your question started about ireland then went into palestine and isreal.off topic.why would the uk attack dublin if the IRA were in the north of ireland?

The UK couldn't respond like that. The UVF, however, did plant bombs in Dublin during the 1970s.

I was in a pub in birmingham when an ira bomb went off, once you've seen that, you will not think of hamas rockets as fireworks. a rocket is a rocket, it kills, the only diff between the israelis and hamas, is the cash to buy bigger weapons, by the way, i am irish so not biased

Good question, interesting "what ifs" but I don't think it's America's responsibility to protect or defend anyone. (other than Americans)

Personally I think America would serve her own interests better by declaring Israel, Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. etc. failed states and pull out of these places all together.

To my way of thinking, there is a significant number of people in these places who have no interest in peace so I think it's pretty pointless to try to bring it too them. America has paid too high a price in both dollars and lives already, let these people sort it out. If they can't, then so be it.

Hamas was elected by the people in Gaza, the IRA were not elected by anyone. The palestinians knew that Hamas's sole intention was the destruction of Israel, what did they expect?

no i don't think so because britain and isreal are more important allows to america then the irish or Palestine. So no, the us would never support ireland over britain in any circumstances. Why would america help peeople in the gaza strip, they are attacking (granted only a small portion) one of americas strongest allies.

So yes of course to america isreal lives are more important then plaistine lives... no one says it but of course. The way i see it Hamas is at fault for the hole thing.... but it is Israel fault we have Hamas in the first place!

The so called ira were operating within the United Kingdom, and as such it could have been considered a civil war. The present problem in Palestine is that the people are divided, with Hamas in control in Gaza, and the West Bank under the control of the more moderate wing. When the ceasefire ended, Hamas started firing rockets into Israel, they knew what would happen, and that is why we have the present situation. they do not care about the ordinary person in Gaza who are now the meat in the sandwich. It is up to all Nations to try and bring an end to this tragic situation. We can only pray that peace will come, and help those in need in whatever way that we can.

DMoney
LOL, great point. Bush and Condoleezza Rice obviously think Palestinian lives are worthless. I bet they're enjoying their last few days as Israel pounds it out.
