If you dont have to pay tax on it then it is a good enough amount of money!!! Its about €770 a week so as long as you dont have to pay too much on accomodation then you will easily live on this amount!!!

lyndsayc1984
Yes, it's quite good. You definitely won't be scraping by, as suggested. I've lived in Dublin on 20K before, and I'm a smoker. So if I did it, then yes, it's definitely possible.

Yes that would give you a comfortable living.

Trish D
If that is the figure before tax, then the person will have just over half of that into their hand.

Accommodation and living costs here are very high. The person on 40k would not be starving, but they would not be living the high life either. It depends where they live, whether they drive a car, have a family etc. all these things would eat up money.

Well it's nearly £30k a year so yes a pretty good salary

Mental Mickey
40000 euros is about UK£29,700. If we're talking per annum here, then that's pretty good. It's enough to live on certainly. Plenty of full-time jobs in the UK pay only half that (£15k), and from what I've seen of Dublin, living costs aren't that different to Britain, so 40,000 euros a year seems very generous, possibly too generous. What kind of job are we talking about? At that kind of money, I'd be on the plane tomorrow!

If it's 40,000 a week and you're living in Duberlin, you'll probably have just enough money to scrape by.

Come to Cork instead.
Up The REBELS!!!
