If you are going to Kerry and looking to stay in a town then Killarney, Dingle and Kenmare would be the best places to stay! They are all touristy towns so there are plenty of hotels and B&Bs there. Dingle would be my personal favourite! It is the most Irish of the three towns and it still hangs on to the past a bit. And it is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland...nay...the world! Kenmare is on the Ring of Kerry and is very tourist oriented...it can be a bit snobby at times! Killarney is the biggest out of the three and there are a lot of things to do there and it is very central also.

A bit of warning though...do NOT stay in Tralee..it is a horrible horrible town...but it does have the best shopping in Kerry if you are interested in that!

If you are looking to stay somewhere quieter in the countryside I would look at some of the smaller towns and villages on the Ring of Kerry or the Dingle Penninsula! I would stay mainly to these areas and stay away from east Kerry and north Kerry as they are not as beautiful!

Have a good time no matter where you end up!

Don't forget Co. Clare....very friendly and some spectacular scenery, great pubs for traditional music sessions, medieval banquet nights in Bunratty castle....loads to do and see.....you can propose to him on the Cliffs of Moher!

Hehe sure isnt Jackie Healy Rae only worried about the roads, not that people have somewhere to sleep!

Kerry is definatley the most beautiful county in Ireland (and this is from someone who has spent every childhood summer, easter and christmas there for eighteen years-unwillingly sometimes!)

You can always find little B&Bs around the place to stay in, Tralee (the capital) has lots of hotels, one called The Meadowlands is very nice and central-the sights are within walking distance. And its quite private too.

Killarney is also lovely-every second house is somewhere to stay-you can find really nice places off the beaten track! Its probabaly the most touristy place in the county, with churches, shops, Killarney Woolen Mills, and Mucross House-a beautiful restored stately home, with wonderful grounds to walk in (very romantic!) and a great cafe and visitor centre.

And then theres Dingle, which is just amazing. You can swim with the famous dolphin Funghi, and theres loads of little restaraunts, very cosy!

Unfortunatley, I cant really tell you any places that are especially cheap, the kingdom costs some money, though it wont be as bad as say, Dublin for expenditure!

Hope this helps and that you have a great time!

Sshhhh! It's Podge and Rodge
Jackie Healy-Rae might put you up for the night.
Sher doesn't he own half of Kerry?

For a small town, Killarney has a huge number of big hotels, you won't have any problem finding places to stay there. I would also suggest the town of Kenmare, which is easily reached from Killarney, but I would advise caution when driving this road, as there are no streetlights, it's very narrow and twisty and the edges are not quite as stable as they should be.

Welcome to the Kingdom, you can fly into Farranfore Airport in Kerry from Stanstead. It is a short journey to Killarney or Tralee. Killarney caters for the tourist well and is used as a gateway to the rest of Kerry. You can do a lot in Kerry and there is a lot of beautiful scenery ......Cals S has her head up her ***.
