Perfectly safe.
That ia not to say that we're not in a state of shock about what's happened over the past 3 days But for tourists and visitors NI is as safe this week as it has been last. In fact now that the PSNI (and public) is on high alert it's probably a little safer. |

If you mean because of the recent news about the soldiers and the police officer, then yes it is safe...
You would not like to have gone during the conflicts it was scary then, but i will still go as i have fam there... |

Yes, you will be fine. |

You will be fine. Northern Ireland is very safe. The recent news is an aberration. They have already made some arrests I've heard. |

you'll be fine unless you are a squadie, if not then no problem. the people of norn iron are fabulous, very friendly and welcoming and will make you feel right at home. Where are you going incedently? as i could offer a few tips on things to see!! |

Take your trip. Why should it effect the will of the ordinary decent people. Everyone should carry on as normal and not let these idiots see that it has changed our attitudes.
Is it safe ? Yes and probably safer that last week, as the security are on higher alert. |

These were very much isolated incidents. The chances of you seeing trouble in the six counties now still remains remote.I often shopped there during the worst of the troubles and seldom seen anything worrying.I'm going through on Saturday to Belfast to do some shopping. |

Ye, I understand why you asked this. I'm presuming that your not from Ireland or the U.K. The t.v. makes the North look like a dangerous place. I'm from the Republic & I've been up there twice & its a lovely place, the scenery is really nice. The troubles have stopped for the past 20 years. You might have seen the news seeing the garda get shot but those things rarely happen. Hope you enjoy your stay. |

You should be fine. |

Why When How

well don't walk down the streets at midnight naked waving a tricolour or union flag and you will be fine.
use common sense wherever you are travelling |

You'll be fine. There about a million people up there, and the number of people involved in recent incidents could be counted on very few fingers. That means nearly a million ordinary, friendly people not involved, going about their normal business. It's a terrible shame that it takes only one or two bad apples to spoil things for everybody. Enjoy your visit. |

As long as you are not bearing the Union Jack in republican areas, or a tricolour in loyalist areas. |

I can understand your concern, outside looking in can be daunting. All of us living here have to get on with our daily lives, much as we hate to see these shootings occur. Come an Friday as arranged and I hope you have a pleasant stay. It is still a very safe region to visit. Enjoy. |

I dont think it'll stop anyone from the south going to sainsburys for drink?

you've posted this question in the wrong section.
Northern ireland is not 'Ireland' - so this should be in the UK travel section
You're never completely safe in Northern Ireland, even if you are a Child, the IRA don't really care, until the British government secure our external borders & place all provies under house arrest things won't change |
