In Dublin for two days, best things to do?

Coming to Ireland for 2 and a half days as part of our holiday. unfortunately short on time, will be arriving in Dublin on a Saturday afternoon and leaving a Monday night (21st April).

We will have a car hired. What are the best things to do and see in this time? Thanks!

Plan what you want to do before you go. Have a look at http://www.visitdublin.com/ and if you'd like to include some fun cultural tours etc. I personally recommend the following:

Dublinia http://www.dublinia.ie/
The Viking Splash Tour http://www.vikingsplash.ie/
Guiness Storehouse http://www.guinness-storehouse.com/
Visiting Croke Park http://www.crokepark.ie/
Killmainham Gaol http://www.kilmainham-gaol.com/

I've been on all those tours and more, having lived in Dublin all my life and those above are the ones I would bring friends on or even visit again! : D

Oh Sea Safari http://www.seasafari.ie/ and the Ghost bus http://www.dublinbus.ie/sightseeing/ghos... are great too! Have fun!
Enjoy your stay!

Cancel that hired car. All it will get you in Dublin is hassle, parking is expensive and if you leave a car on most streets in Dublin city centre, it could get clamped.

See the historical sights of Dublin city, visit the National Museum buildings, the National Gallery, the Irish Museum of Modern Art on Sunday (these could be closed on Monday, check on the websites for opening times), take the open-top bus tour around the city of the historical locations, take a round trip on the DART from Howth to Bray and enjoy the views of Dublin Bay, stop off in Dun Laoghaire and have a bracing walk down the pier - but only do this if the weather is not stormy, in the past few days people have been advised to stay away from coastal areas. Listen to local weather forecasts before doing this. And have a nice time.

Shop! Go to temple Bar--spend a night out in the Sugar Club- theres bound to be some cool band playin--walk around Stevens Green--laugh at the spike--go to Dundrum shoppin--stop and listen to the buskers (hopefully the orchestra will be out) on O'Connell Street--bring a coat!--and have fun!

Forget the car hire. Parking is a nightmare in Dublin city. I Think jo jo has it about right, but you must visit Temple bar.
Have a great holiday.
My son is over there at the moment, if you see him, give him a hug from me. LOL
