Galway has it all: scenery, people, remoteness, city life, islands to explore, and it's well set up for tourists, either in packs or as individuals. The link below will take you to an article that highlights some of the main attractions, albeit from a somewhat cynical perspective. And be warned, Galway is a place to savour slowly rather than to "do" in a day.

Im an Arab but I know Ireland is one of the most beautiful countries on earth.
It is an enchanting country. I know because nearly half my teachers in grade school and high school were Irish

I visited this wonderful country last year, and particularly loved the south-west corner from Galway down to Kerry.
The Dingle peninsula was my favorite after spending a few days in Dingle town. Pubs and the people are great. |

I loved the city of Cork and Blarney Castle. The people in Cork seemed friendly. I also liked visiting Trinity College and the Guiness Factory in Dublin, as well as all of the things to do there. |

Our Arab friend talks about the Irish who live abroad. The Irish who live here in Ireland are very very clannish ppl. So, there is no friendliness here at all.
I would stick in Galway and generally in the west coast which is my favorite part of the country, the west Co Cork is nice and Donegal as well. |
