you have to be 18 to be sold alcohol, but 95% of Irish 15 year olds have drank, 2/3 do regularly, so it won't actually be a problem getting drink. Fish (ask some passerby on the street to go in and get it for you, saying they can keep the change - just remember to stay out of view of the off licence itself) outside an off licence (or liquor store as you may know it as)

No legal age is 18, however depending on what kind of dive you go to you might get away with it, esp if your with older people!!

It is illegal to buy or sell drink to anybody under the age of 18 in Ireland, and any shop, pub. or off licence doing so will be prosecuted, and may also be closed for a period, receive a heavy fine, and also may loose their licence to sell alcohol. This also applies to the sale of tobacco and cigarettes. It is also illegal to buy and consume alcohol in public.
