Next to England. It's an island off the coast of Europe. It's in Western Europe, occupying five-sixths of the island of Ireland in the North Atlantic Ocean, west of Great Britain.

Population was 4,062,235 (July 2006 est.) according to https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/print/ei.html

i laughed but then again my american wife didnt know where ireland or england was either until we met (im english), she guessed we were next to france.

dont they teach geography in american schools?.

ireland is NOT part of the united kingdom either!.

denialfiend
It's the big island to the west of England and Scotland. Frankly, I think it's a shame that you have to actually ask this question.

Leave New York and start swimming east-You'll find Ireland in about 3,500 miles

smalltownmind_17
to the left of the U.K. above and to the left of france. estimated population 4,062,235

JGriff
First, look for Europe.

Once you're there, go west until you reach France.

Northwest of France is Great Britain.

To Great Britain's west is Ireland.

It is about 6 hour flight east across the Atlantic N.Y.-Shannon, non-stop.

Glad to Help!
