Irelands in recession, But I still wanna go back! Please give me some good advice.?

HI, I am currently living in south africa since last Oct, but am hoping ot go home in the near near future. Unfortunately for me, my partner is in the construction business, which has taking a really bad fall with the irish recession. But understand that I am really depressed & homesick & I really need to go home, but my partner is completely against the idea claiming that he will be jobless in Ireland. I personally don't feel free over here in south africa, I feel trapped all the time behind locked gates & cant even open my window of my car while driving in case I get mugged, I would not have that at home...I am basically Just looking for your personal opinion on what you would do in my situation.. we also have a 3yr old too. Which makes it all the more difficult.. I have a couple of days to decide whether im staying or going home.. Im soo confused..... thank you x

If I was in you situation I'd move back home. The quality of life will be better for your 3 year old. This job crisis should get better in the next 2 years and at the moment house prices seem to have hit rock bottom so you will get a great deal. Just my view and I hope it works out for you.
