Well every school has the same core subjects; Maths, English, Irish, History, Geography, S.P.H.E (Social, Personal and Health Education..we mainly talk about sex and drugs in class), P.E (Physical Education), Computers, C.S.P.E (Civic, Social and Political Education) and Religion.
In most schools you get to pick 2 or 3 "option" subjects, which can range from Woodwork, Metalwork, Art, Home Economics,Technical Graphics, Business Studies, Science and Music.
Then we have our languages. Most schools have French has their main language but some schools (such as mine) study German, Spanish or even Latin. In a lot of schools, they study Italian or Dutch in "Transition" year (4th year)

A lot of young Spanish, Italian and French, go to learn English as it is still mostly a Catholic Country and they have some Affinity with it. They also do Grinds Extra School work on the Irish School Holidays ,when the Normal School Activity is closed for Vacation and they take on Foreign Students and Irish Students to Help them Catch up if they are doing Badly and want to get top Marks in their Leaving Certificate. You can take most Courses that is done Everywhere else in Europe, Maths ,Science, Woodwork, Metalwork etc. You can go on Erasmus exchange Programmes to. A Nephew of mine who goes to The College of Art and Design in Thomas Street Dublin went on an Erasmus Programme to Northern Sweden for a couple of Months and said it was Great,he went to a College up there as it had the Courses he Wanted and it was Subsidised he did not have to Pay for his stay or courses and Food was Cheap. So I suppose you could put in for this with your College Authorities back Home in Italy and they do an Exchange with an Irish Student . Good Luck.
