Claddagh ring. I've had mine for aaaages an I love it! Its a nice ring! Savage! It brings luck to you if someone who loves you gives it to you! Your going to be really lucky!

The Claddagh's distinctive design features two hands clasping a heart, and usually surmounted by a crown. The elements of this symbol are often said to correspond to the qualities of love (the heart), friendship (the hands), and loyalty (the crown). The expression which was associated with these symbols in the giving of the ring was: "Let love and friendship reign."

The way that a Claddagh ring is worn on the hand is usually intended to convey the wearer's romantic availability, or lack thereof. Traditionally, if the ring is on the right hand with the design facing outward and away from the body, this indicates that the person wearing the ring is not in any serious relationship, and may in fact be single and looking for a relationship. When worn on the right hand but with the design facing inward toward the body, this indicates the person wearing the ring is in a relationship, or that "someone has captured their heart". A Claddagh worn on the left hand ring finger, facing outward away from the body, generally indicates that the wearer is engaged. When the ring is on the left hand ring finger and facing inward toward the body, it generally means that the person wearing the ring is married

a claddagh ring the crown is for loyalty the hand for friend ship the heart for love if you ware the ring with the heart out your looking for love, but if you ware the ring with the heart faceing you you found your love.

claddagh ring...the heart represents love, the hands friendship and the crown loyalty....dont wanna freak ya out but they are sometimes used as wedding/engagement rings....but my gran got me 1 4 my 12th b-day so dont stress urself over it!! u wear it facing down on ur rite hand if ur single, up on ur rite if ur goin out wit some1, down on ur left if ur engaged and up on ur left if ur mariied...all on ur ring finger....

Steve is correct. The traditional three marriage vows, Love, Honor (nowadays people say friendship as it is more often given as a friendship ring) and obey (loyalty as to the crown!) are depicted. It was traditionally worn by the women of the Claddagh in Galway City. The claddagh is a part of Galway city that was once a fishing village and had several unique traditions. The word Claddagh is Irish for seashore/quay.
