I hate mine. A few years back (in Uni) I had to transcribe my focus groups and interviews (from my dictaphone). I hated listen to my voice, just cringed through the whole thing.

The thing is I love Irish accents in general. Living abroad I use to love hearing Irish accents, partly because it's someone from home but there's something else as well.

I particularily love southern Irish accents (waterford, Cork etc). I spend quite a bit of time down there and everyone thinks I've a really strong Northern accent but when I was living in belfast most locals though I was from the south, probably because I'm from the border but I still hate mine.

If your talkin about a Jim MacDonald 'what a bite ya' accent, then we hate it!
If you're talkin about Grainne Seoige's dulcet tones, then we're always up for it!

I should be doing something else
I like all except the accent of people living in the Shannon area, it sounds really backward.

just listen to the d4 accent. its not a real accent but the people who live there think they are better than everyone else so they made up their own accent. i hate them all, with their fake tan, ugly ugg boots and metrosexuals posing at the bars.
heres an example of their accent
'the dart' becomes the 'the dort'
'car' becomes 'coor'
'yard' becomes 'yord' etc.

The only 'Irish' accent that really grates is the 'oh roish, loike, aoife is just, loike, soo random' speak that used to be limited to the Dort line but which has infected yuppie-sprogs nationwide. Do they not get how ridiculous it is for a bogger from the likes of Freshford to speak like a cross between yer wan from the OC and Princess Anne's horse?
Loike, get over it.
