I live in Donegal so haven't ever had to stay in Derry but it is a great town try the website below. it'll really depend on how much you want to pay but the waterfoot hotel has a really good name and is a modern but locally owned place and an amazing building- a bit different from the usual travelodge etc boring places.
There are loads of b and b's you can get details of on the site just make sure you have your transport sorted. If you have your own car great but if you're relying on public transport then consider this in where you pick as buses aren't great and trains don't run into Donegal.

I WOULD TRAVEL ON TO BUNBEG AND STAY IN THE SEAVIEW HOTEL ITS JUST RIGHT BESIDE A BEACH AND THEY HAVE A GOOD NIGHTCLUB CALLED THE MILLENIUM PURE CLUB !!! HAVE A GOOD TIME IN DONEGAL <<<>>>

There are some good cheap B&B's at the waterside area close to the Trinity Hotel that you might want to look into. Have a nice time.
