Irish customs - shipping a bullet belt into ireland. any help would be great?

i want to ship in a bullet belt into ireland to place onto a leather guitar strap (as part of my costume for my band) the bullets are made of brass and copper, they are m16 bullets in the form of a belt. (ie: lined up to form a belt) they are unloaded and they never will be loaded - will i be able to ship then into ireland. it is only 1 item for my own personal use. will i have to pay customs duty on the item? is it illegal to ship them as firearms are illegal to ship into ireland

thanks

Package the item

Fill in a custom declaration form (available at the post office etc)

You will be advised on the custom declaration form of what items are prohibited (this is fairly standard within Europe eg pressurised containers, explosives etc)

If it states no deactivated guns / ammunition then don't send it!

Hand form in and seek clarification at the point of postage if required.

It really depends on whether or not its live ammunition (i doubt it is its) but you should find out from whoever your buying it from. If it is live ammunition then you nned permission see this site for more info....

How vey 1980's of you :o) A quick question to your post office would help you best. You should be able to, otherwise bands like Judas Priest wouldn't be allowed to perform there.

haha the first answerer has some serious bullet issues...get real girl its only a strap for his guitar! It probably looks nice!

Sorry I cant help you, I really dont know!

Learner
Aw could you not think of another belt for your guitar instead of a bullet belt....Shur weren't we up to our necks in muck and bullets for long enough, without you wearing a bullet belt when you play your music.

Not that you would care....but it would put me off your band, you could have anything in them bullets and we wouldn't know.
