Kate Love's LFC.

Irish people- What did ye Make of the Simpson's Episode in Ireland?

Tbh I thought it had a dull story line, Smart the way they used ''modern Ireland'' though.

So what did ye think of it..

Thanks =]

I'm usually a big fan of the Simpsons but i thought it was absolutely dire!
The accents were crap and thw storyline was just not good!

If you do a search on the Internet you should be able to find it easy enough. *cough megavideo end cough*

I was impressed with the research they'd obviously put into the episode but it was completely and utterly forgettable. .

It's a shame, the Simpsons use to be such a brilliant show, but at this stage it really needs to be put out of it's misery.

The whole thing just felt like the writers were trying too hard not to offend anyone, to the extent that it simply wasn't funny which is surely missing the whole point no? 10 years ago Matt wouldn't have been afraid to stick the boot in.

There was a few glaring mistakes that threw me off a bit but the writers weren't so ignorant of the country that I got offended or anything. I can see why they changed the gardai to the police - most nationalities wouldn't have a clue what a garda is - but the red double decker bus looked really odd.
Other than that it just wasn't that funny, but The Simpsons has gotten fairly shite in recent years so my expectations weren't that high. The Once gag was good. I chuckled at the Colin Farrel is in/out sign and the one liner about the Irish becoming sober and hardworking but other than that it was fairly meh.

It was dire and I'm a big fan usually. It was disappointingly unfunny.

Satan's Deputy
Haha,I liked that episode, with Grandpa riverdancing in the pub,on the sheep and on the tombstone.I thought the whole starting with the hot tub was random though, and they didn't do much except soak in there for like 5 minutes.Overall, kinda boring, but I like everything Simpsons.

It was alright. But they had Police on the cars instead of Gardai!! And ya..the accents were terrible!!

i thought derry air was funny, and the fact that they made it seem that blarney castle, dublin and the giants causeway were just a bus ride from eachother was probably mis leading for those who have never been here.

Orla C
Didn't see it.

it was quite short
at least they acknowledged the changes in ireland

dollymix (now geeky for a month)
Accents were terrible. And they said Ireland was boring. The storyline was crap, and you expected it to go on longer, like when they were found out by the garda they were sent home...Oh and they called the garda police....

But I did find the bit with your man who sings falling slowly funny!

Hanna
It is really cool.

To be on the Simpson's it's a real honor. In ireland St paddy's day is becoming bigger and bigger and more commmericalsed so after a day of parades, stalls, crowds in green with shamrocks and seeing loads of people making the most of the holiday it's really cool to come to watch the Simpson's to end your amazing day.

It doesn't matter if it's good or crap it's the dedication that counts.
