Dont reply if you are going to say irish stations are great- you like them which is great for you - but I dont and believe me i have tried. I cant get longwave on my radio at home or at work but i can listen to R4 on broadband thanks

Have you tried RTE's Radio 1? It might be worth checking out their classical channel, Lyric FM, as well.

I have the same problem as you and can only get 3 Irish radio stations at home. Broadband or satellite t.v. may be your only option at the moment. Other than that I think it is a waiting game for technology and coverage to improve.

I would advise buying a digital radio, with one of them baby's you can get thousands of radio channels worldwide in your living room through the radio and i would only assume all of the BBC channels would be on it. Just google digital radio's and read up on them, it might suit you.

If you are looking for talk radio then RTE radio 1 is for you, if you like classical music with a small amount of talking then RTE Lyric FM is for you. If you want a radio station with quite mainstream pop then RTE 2 Fm is for you!

hope i helped :D

No there is no radio station like Radio 4 in Ireland.

You can buy an internet radio which does not require a computer when you are away from your computer, a link to one from Amazon.

Have you also discovered Radio 7, has much of the best drama and comedy from Radio 4 and other great audio, link below.

The main broadcaster in Ireland is RTE, Radio Telefís Éireann. You can either get them on your radio set or on the Internet.

Life-long BBC Radio 4 fan.

The above show came off air following the death of Humphry Littleton. There are plans to bring it back with a new chairman - wait and see.
