Crazygirl

Is Cow tipping real or an urban myth (in relation to vital tourist information)?

Many a person has told me about Cow tipping. They would go into great detail of
How it is done. Disturbingly the same amount of detail my Scottish friend went into describing how they were once romantically involved with a sheep. Strange enough Scottish men still seem sexy after saying the story. Anyway before I get too excited, I shall continue with the story.

So basically the Cow is a sleep. Then they tip the cow over and wake them. This is just to make sure that the cow does not die.

I always wondered do people actually do this. It seems sort of pointless to be honest with you.

I prefer to eat cows and drink their milk. I do not see the whole interest in torturing the poor cow.

So is this true? Do people actually engage in cow tipping?
I recently found out that some people smoke Hay. Yes Hay you give to cattle.
I wonder do they put Tobacco into it for good measure.

Anyway cheers for the answers.

Yea it's something I've always wondered about myself. I live in a fairly cow heavy population and I don't know of one person who's actually done this.

Cows are fairly heavy though so I'd presume, if it is possible you'd want to find one on a hill and push downwards?

It does seem a bit mean, though if someone did manage to do it I hope the cow would have a fair go at fighting back

LOL yes cow tipping is real. In very rural areas, teenagers have alot of free time. My friends (not myself) used to tip cows when I was in high school. They would sneak up to the cow and just shove it over. Usually the cow wakes up when it falls. It is a stupid practice and I agree with you that eating them and drinking their milk is way better than tipping them over.

P.S. I think scottish men are sexy too, regardless of their love for sheep!

Haha! Yep its true. I've heard of several instances of it happening in America although not here.
As people said above teens in rural areas do get bored...
I have friends in America who did it many times and still do. I totally agree though, it seems like a waste of energy to me. Poor cows :-(

Part myth, part real. The fact is, teenagers get really bored in rural areas. I have my doubts about it being possible.

I have some friends who have participated. Usually they wind up getting poo on them, so it works out evenly from the poor cows perspective. I have ever felt the need to do this myself.

Cows do it too!:
"In January 2009, a cow reportedly knocked a woman off her bike and stepped on her legs in Boulder, Colorado. The Associated Press wrote that, "It's not another instance of cow-tipping. In this case, it was the cow that did the tipping." The woman was not seriously injured. Other news sources cited the incident as the result of a "Cow engaging in people-tipping."

cow tipping is an American pasttime as far as I can tell - a cow has more value in some rural areas then a child's life, you wouldn't dare risk life & limb climbing into some farmer's field to shove his cows over

Sshhhh! It's Podge and Rodge
It's how the country people get milk shakes.
